Sixth Form Ethos, Culture & Expectations

Aiming higher – Promoting harmony – Achieving excellence

MHCHS Intent Statement

Mill Hill County Sixth Form is a highly academic environment that requires students to be critical thinkers who are inquisitive and independent. Students are offered a broad A Level curriculum and supported to create aspirational and exciting pathways for themselves after leaving school.

Sixth Form students take an active role within the school community to help shape a culture of respect. Students embrace the wide range of opportunities that are offered in areas of leadership, enrichment and personal development.

Students leave the Sixth Form as well-rounded, impressive and socially conscious young adults who are exceptionally well prepared for their future.

We believe that students enjoy taking responsibility for their own learning. Learning to be independent is vital as they approach the next stage towards either university or in employment, but they require support. Their sixth form journey is still very much a transition. We have therefore provided a handbook which aims to help students understand what is expected of them and how to make the most of sixth form life. These expectations create an important framework for our students to be in a safe, structured and positive environment that allows all to excel.
