Our Values
Mill Hill County High School’s Latin Motto “Altiora Peto”, translates as “I Seek Higher Things” and we have evolved our values around this theme to encapsulate our ambition for our school community:
Aiming Higher – Promoting Harmony – Achieving Excellence
Aiming Higher:
To equip students to thrive as individuals and as citizens in a rapidly changing world
To provide a well-rounded education including a wide range of enrichment opportunities for all
To involve students in the leadership of the school
Promoting Harmony:
To show respect to all members of the school and wider community
To care for students, in the widest sense, enabling them to express themselves and be supported to overcome any difficulty
To create a culture where everyone feels safe and welcome, where each individual feels valued for who they are and what they contribute, and to celebrate their uniqueness in our diverse community
Achieving Excellence:
To provide a broad, forward-looking curriculum, rooted in the traditional academic disciplines
To work with families in support of students’ learning and development;
To look after staff and promote professional development;
To never be complacent in our pursuit of excellence
