Chris Godfrey - Journalism Talk

Chris Godfrey, who left Mill Hill County in 2008, has worked as a journalist for the last fifteen years. His writing has appeared in a wide range of news providers and magazines including HuffPost, The Independent, The Telegraph, BuzzFeed, The Daily Beast and The Irish Times. Among his notable recent work is the cover interview with Miriam Margolyes for this month’s Vogue magazine.

He is currently commissioning editor for the Guardian's G2 section and came in speak to our Year 12 English Language and Media students.

Chris gave some fantastic insights into journalism and how to earn a living as a writer. He fielded questions on a wide range of topics including career paths into journalism and whether it was ever a good idea for a celebrity to do an interview. Overall this was a wonderful opportunity for our students. Many thanks to Chris, and to Dickon for organising.
